Schroon Lake Bed & Breakfast Inn in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, the Silver Spruce B&B.

The Silver Spruce Inn is located in the hamlet of Schroon Lake, just off exit 28 of the Adirondack Northway, approximately 86 miles North of Albany. We are just forty-five minutes, from the Whiteface - Lake Placid recreation areas and the high peaks region of the Adirondack Park; and just twenty minutes from the Gore Mountain ski areas and the Lake George communities. Our Inn borders the Schroon River at the Schroon River Falls, and is ideally located for getaways, vacations or retreats in any season.

The Silver Spruce Inn is a spacious Adirondack country home, rich in local history with very nicely appointed and tastefully decorated large guest rooms. The original home dates back to the 1790's and is of post-and-beam construction, and now is the innkeepers quarters. In 1926 a seventeen room addition was added to the original country home by Sallie Smith, which now includes the Inn's guest quarters of six guest rooms, six full private bathrooms, and a prohibition area Speakeasy Bar from the original Waldorf Astoria. The "speakeasy", which is located in the basement, and was formerly known for many years as The Tavern, is now an inactive museum piece, and is part of the Inn's activity area.

The Silver Spruce Inn is located on sixteen lush green acres in the heart of the Adirondack Park, just north of the Town of Schroon Lake is an ideal place for individual relaxation, special personal events, small gatherings, business meetings, weddings and reunions etc. The friendly and unique facility includes exquisite guest rooms, six functional fireplaces, and an expansive enclosed sun porch, large common rooms, impressive dining rooms, and a parlor for social activities and get-togethers. Our gazebo and large perennial gardens continues to grow larger each year further complementing the facility.

All of our guest rooms, guest bathrooms and parlor areas are paneled in clear, full cut western cedar, a truly unique feature of this Adirondack structure. Adjoining each individual guest room, for the comfort and privacy of our guest, is a full private Astoria-style bathroom, with graceful fixtures al-al The Waldorf Astoria era.

In addition to its warm and intimate atmosphere, the Inn is also well known for its multi-coursed family style country breakfasts. This feature alone brings many of our guests back time after time, and is but one indication of our pledge to provide personalized hospitality, and assure your total comfort.
