  • The original structure dates back to the 1790’s and was then known as the ”Silver Spruce Tavern” - To the original “Tavern” structure, 17 rooms were added in 1928 which included the dining room, parlor, bedrooms, bathrooms, enclosed garages, covered porch, and bar. The construction was of the absolute very highest quality available, with many of the craftsman brought into Schroon Lake from the Waterbury, CT area and included masons, plumbers, carpenters and other craftsmen necessary to complete this two and half year building project.

  • Most of the interior of the new construction (17 rooms) is of full-cut three-quarter inch western cedar.

  • Our “Formal Garden” 100ft x 100ft, with fountain, arbor, and brick walkways – Has been featured in “Gardens Adirondack Style”, and are often used for Weddings and other photographic functions. Our lawn Gazebo is also used for weeding activities. There is also approximately 5 acres of manicured lawn.

  • We installed a new high efficiency boiler system including two Bedirus boilers, in 2005, complete with the most current computer control heating monitoring system available. This new boiler system, coupled with the original radiating system, provides warm constant heat through out the structure.

  • The home also has 6 large woodburning functional fireplaces, and a woodburning parlor stove, plus two fireplaces and one parlor stove unit, which are propane systems. These fireplaces provide ambiance, through out the home, as appropriate. (Carriage house fireplaces are in additional to these items)

  • The domestic water system is plumed in solid brass piping and fittings.

  • Our spring water, domestic water system, complete with two springs, and two huge holding cisterns, provides the home with unmatched drinking water.

  • There are hardwood floors, most refinished, through out the structure.

  • The slate roof and was completely replaced in 1998.

  • Septic / disposal system was completely replaced in 2001, and is a 3000 gallon holding system complete with extensive drain fields .
